Traditional venture capital wasn't built for healthcare. Capital flows in, promising innovations emerge, and far too many never reach the patients who need them. That gap isn't a funding problem. It's an execution problem, and most venture firms are not built to solve it.
LOUD Ventures was founded on a different POV: the belief that the strongest returns in healthcare come from solving its hardest problems the right way, and that doing so requires more than a check and a board seat.
The firm invests in early-stage healthcare and life science companies developing scalable solutions to real, structural challenges in the system.
What distinguishes LOUD is the comprehensive platform it has built around that capital, integrating strategic, operational, and clinical expertise to actively guide its portfolio companies beyond funding.
LOUD Ventures, the fund and fiduciary entity, operates in close coordination with LOUD Collective, its company-building arm. Where traditional investors deploy capital and step back, LOUD Collective embeds experienced executives directly into portfolio companies: clinicians, operators, and financial leaders who understand healthcare's complexity from the inside.
Flexible capital structures, including SPVs and direct co-investment access, give aligned investors options that fit how healthcare moves. LOUD holds itself accountable not only to financial returns but also to the measurable outcomes its companies deliver for patients.
This philosophy is personal for the co-founders, Buffy Alegria and Navin Goyal, MD.
Buffy is a former corporate banking professional and previously led a major women's health-focused venture fund. Her deep conviction stems from the time she spent in the NICU with her premature twins, experiencing the system's brilliance and limits firsthand. Later, as a member of a local health system board, she witnessed small hospitals struggling while innovative founders lacked the capital and operational support to scale their solutions.
Navin brings a complementary vantage point: a practicing anesthesiologist turned entrepreneur who co-founded a healthcare startup (recently acquired), served as Medical Director of Dublin Methodist Hospital, and invests across healthcare and life sciences. He built the firm's first iteration and created the portfolio that LOUD Ventures manages today.
When they teamed up, they brought experience raising and managing several institutional funds. Together, they have achieved five exits across LOUD funds and have advised and invested in over 100 companies since 2015. Their partnership is grounded in a shared belief: healthcare venture done right requires operators, not just observers.
They both believe that purpose and profit do not have to compete in healthcare. When properly aligned, they become accelerants for one another.
We're so proud to partner with Navin, Buffy, and the LOUD Ventures team to support their thought leadership, help them continue to grow their firm, and connect them with aligned investors.
